Numicon Counting

Numicon Counting

It’s rare that I tell you to go and buy a resource for learning because I’m a strong believer that you can make anything and make it a brilliant learning tool. However, numicon is great! It provides the opportunities to count, subitise and find the answers to number problems – all whilst keeping maths fun and engaging.
Emotion Rocks

Emotion Rocks

Grab some rocks whilst out on a nature walk and draw some faces on them. This is a brilliant activity for getting your little ones talking about emotions. We gave ours hair and googly eyes but then decided to remove the eyes so that we could hide them back in our local park – we wanted to spread a smile to anyone who found them.
Three Little Pigs

The Three Little Pigs

If you want a way to bring this classic story to life then grab a hair dryer, some straw, sticks and bricks – build some houses and have fun trying to blow the houses down. We absolutely loved making our houses together but we love blowing them down even more.
CVC Words

CVC Words

A CVC word is a word made up of a consonant, vowel, consonant. Make a vowel frame with each of the vowel’s a, e, i, o, u. Attach each of the consonants to clothes pegs and play around with lots of different CVC words. Even if you create a word that is not real – sound it out. It can always add to the fun. If you want to have a go of this, head to the printable section.
